Some more news to report:
A season of ups and downs - such has been the weeks following Pentecost this year. A time of some hope, with many of the public restrictions in Alberta being lifted, but also a time of some concern as COVID variants roared back into our consciousness.
We have done our best to find a balance between our desire to be together and our responsibility to be together safely. So, we sing and worship together while wearing masks, and we continue to offer our worship thorugh various digital platforms.
We have navigated those challenges with some grace and continue to have hope that our approach is a faithful witness to our Christian faith. And sometimes that means a change of direction.
Recently we had returned to a scaled back version of fellowship after worship - 'coffee and cookies' - which had been very well received. But with the continued high numbers of COVID cases in the city, we have decided to suspend that fellowship time until further notice.
We had also hoped to be returning to our beautiful sanctuary for worship by September, but ongoing difficulties in getting our elevator repaired and re-certified will cause a delay in our return upstairs.
We will continue in our best efforts to ensure there are no barriers to gathering in worship, whether that is multiple on-line platforms or worship in Taylor Hall.
The session remains grateful for your faithfulness, your patience, and your encouragement through what has been a long and often confusing series of events arising out of this global health crisis. While we acknowledge that the crisis is not entirely over – and we will remain vigilant and responsive to future changes.
Bless you and thank you for all you offer to Christ’s church.
